One thing is certain, Pasta Carbonara and Spaghetti Carbonara are something that Italian restaurant menu's and family recipe books usually include. Why? Carbonara is a very popular and delicious pasta dish that dates back to Italy centuries ago. Over the years different countries have modified the recipes slightly, adding ingredients and creating all sorts of new Carbonara variations. Often, you will even notice sub and sandwich shops offering sandwiches such as the Chicken Carbonara. In American variations of carbonara you will almost always find bacon as an ingredient.

If you are looking for a classic yet simple pasta carbonara dish I have included the perfect recipe below. If you are looking for something more interesting there are hundreds of other variations out there, some of them containing squash, veggies, and even mushrooms.
